Online-lecture with Dr. Sierk Horn on the topic of “In Korean-German Business, Do We Actually Need Interculturally Competent Leaders? Some Closer-to-the-Bone Observations”

It is a great pleasure for us to welcome Dr. Sierk Horn, Professor of Business Communication and Intercultural Competence at Munich University of Applied Sciences, as a guest speaker at DKW.

Dr. Horn will give an online lecture on Thursday, 24.04.2025 at 5:00 pm on the topic “In Korean-German Business, Do We Actually Need Interculturally Competent Leaders? Some Closer-to-the-Bone Observations”.

In his presentation, Dr. Horn will discuss the basics of intercultural dialogue and explain step-by-step how so-called “culture bumps” (misunderstandings that can arise from differences in cultural norms, values or communication styles) can occur. Interculturally competent managers are characterized by their ability to recognize and overcome these hurdles at an early stage.
