Webinar: Meet the CEO – Part 1 with Yan Uhl, CFO, SAP Korea on September 3, 2020

In cooperation with the AHK Korea, the IHK Korea Desks have developed a new webinar series called “Meet the CEO”. The webinar series was opened on September 3 with Mr. Uhl from SAP.

Meet the CEO: Yan Uhl, SAP Korea
For the German economy South Korea is the 3rd most important market in Asia. German products enjoy a high reputation there. Like all markets, the South Korean market has its special features. How do German companies succeed in entering the South Korean market? What hurdles and challenges do they face? And what opportunities do they see for themselves? In our new webinar series “Meet the CEO” these and other questions were discussed with CEOs/ or decision makers of German companies that are already successfully active in South Korea.

September 3, 2020, 10 am to 11 am: Part 1: SAP
Yan Uhl joined SAP in 2010 – initially as Director Financial Strategic Planning. In mid-2014, he joined the team that supported the $8.3 billion Concur acquisition. After the acquisition, he helped build financial governance structures and processes and eventually became VP of Finance, Business Networks and Applications. Yan joined SAP Korea as Chief Financial Officer on October 1, 2017. He supports the company on its ambitious growth path. Yan Uhl brings extensive Software-as-a-Service know-how from his time at Ariba, Concur, Fieldglass and other public-cloud companies. As part of the South Korean senior executive team, he leads the field finance organization in South Korea and is committed to supporting the company by combining his business acumen with deep financial management expertise. In conjunction with his role as deputy director, he also negotiates the collective bargaining agreement with the newly formed union of employees at SAP Korea.
In 2019, Yan was elected as treasurer to the board of the South Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is a strong supporter of South Korean-German cooperation.
